If Up's the Word, commissioned by the New England Conservatory Concert Choir/ Erica Washburn director, will be premiered in Jordan Hall in Boston MA on April 25, 2011 - 8:00 pm. The text, by e.e. cummings was selected by Lorna Cooke deVaron whose 90th birthday is the reason for the celebration. Ms. deVaron started the choral program at NEC in 1948, and it is her legacy that the choruses are commemorating.
